HUMULL TABLE

Developed as an extension of the Hurmull Chair, the Hurmull Side/Coffee Table translates the same investigation into tension, structure, and material honesty into a lower, more architectural form. Constructed from black Italian shoulder leather and a black powder-coated recycled mild steel frame, the piece continues the language of corsetry, this time expressed through a more restrained, planar composition.

The leather is not applied but held in tension, forming the surface through controlled stretch rather than conventional support. This approach challenges the expectation of leather as a passive finish, instead positioning it as an active structural element. The deep black palette unifies material and form, emphasising silhouette, shadow, and the visual weight of the object.

Balancing softness with rigidity, the table operates as both functional object and material study, extending the Hurmull series into a quieter, more resolved expression of the same principles.

Designed, made, and photographed by myself.
